Former NFL Superstar Talks Motivation with EO Grand Rapids

On Oct. 17, EO Grand Rapids gathered together at the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) to hear from 2x Super Bowl champion, Rod Smith. The event was particularly special not only because of the speaker, but because of the great turnout of potential members and sponsors.

Smith’s presentation covered his life journey all the way from the projects, to the NFL and beyond. A true rags-to-riches story, he made it a point to talk about how he became who he is today. As a self-proclaimed lifelong entrepreneur, Smith didn’t always have it easy, but he does believe that his eight principles for success helped to catapult him to where he is now.

A particularly interactive speaker, Smith oftentimes involved the event attendees and didn’t shy away from jokes or jests whenever they presented themselves. Ultimately, members and sponsors alike reported feeling inspired by the his story.
